An exceptionally fine quality 18th Century Miniature Portrait of Emperor Napoleon Ist. The artist has depicted an older stern and serious looking Emperor dressed in his classic cocked hat wearing a light gray-blue top coat, which is open exposing his yellow collared, dark green, red fronted tunic, decorated with medals and orders. This lovely miniature is painted on precious material; Ivory, meticulous and exacting care was taken in rendering this portrait. The painting is mounted in its original rectangular gilt metal frame; surmounted by laurels and ribbon.
